Yu-Gi-Oh! November 2015 Ban List Released

Yugioh TCG Logo

The Forbidden and Limited List for November has arrived. Thankfully my Blackwings are safe (though after not having a showing the entire format, one would hope they were). Unfortunately, they still don't measure up to what we can expect out of Pendulums once BOSH sees a release in the TCG. Which leads us into our discussion of the changes.

I'm a cynic. Meet our new Pendulum overlords. Waiting 3 months for the Breakers of Shadow booster means nothing with Konami introducing a floating ban list as of this format with no official start/end date. Time to work on that Nationals invite prior to January.

Apoquliphort Towers – Everyone except Quilphort players (and Blackwing players due to getting back our 3 Kaluts, which makes most of the deck able to get over it) hated this card. Nearly impervious and a 3000 beatstick. After 2 turns it could easily become a +1 and then some.

Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz – Most of this ban list is focused on hitting Nekroz, Shaddolls, and Quilphorts hard to make way for the New Pendulum Order. This does just that.

El Shaddoll Construct – " "

Evilswarm Exciton Knight – Wasn't a fan as it always felt like a card that had to be run even if you never used it, but one has to ask what the motivation for this was. Being a realist, it was probably due to its impact on Pendulum Scales.

Quliphort Scout – +1 and basically Stratos for Quliphorts except a tiny bit more difficult to bring out.

Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss – Burning Abyss was a cheap, dominant deck this past format. Konami is a business. Higher 3rd party resell costs mean that more packs are bought in the hopes of avoiding these costs. Less expensive cards undermine that.

Mathematician – Turns into a pretty fun +1. A shame this got hit but largely part of the effort to hit Shaddolls and Ritual Beasts.

Nekroz of Brionac – Meta decks get hit.

Nekroz of Unicore – " "

Ritual Beast Ulti-Cannahawk – No meta deck is safe. Even one that largely hasn't been seen topping the YCS after the July ban list.

El Shaddoll Fusion – Dolls, enough said.

Reinforcement of the Army – So much for OCG heroes. Killed the search once again. Would have loved the change of pace.

Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss – Hit Graff? Why not Cir too? Just so we get the point across. No more cost effective, competitive decks. This is a game for those players with a six figure salary. Hit the lever!

No Longer On List

Chaos Sorcerer – French Lightsworn? 🙂 Likely too slow still.

Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En – Sams could use the love and with Gateway of the Six still banned, this probably won't make any real impact.

Spellbook of Fate – Versatile but not overly impactful. Should be fine at 3.

Geargiagear – A straight +1 but Geargia Gadgets need the love and the speed that this can add to be competitive.

What are your thoughts? Did we get it right? Did Konami? Let us know down in the doobly doo.
