Daum Games Europe today announced that it is working with developer Pearl Abyss to bring its successful MMORPG Black Desert Online to North America and Europe. To celebrate, Daum Games launched a teaser site, which went live at  13:37 CET.

The upcoming western version will feature a buy-to-play model when it is released in Spring of 2016. This is very similar to how the original Guild Wars operated with expansions being the main player expense thereafter rather than free-to-play with a cash shop.

There will, however, still be microtransactions for cosmetic and convenience items. The convenience items will most likely focus around experience potions that give you a percentage increase for a number of hours or a day.

With the changes, Daum Games, working with Pearl Abyss, has tweaked the game's balancing and progression to complement the new monetization model.

A new teaser trailer has also been revealed with the announcement.

What do you think of the change? Like it? Hate it? What games are you looking forward to most? Let us know in the comments below.
